Recording your Swing Genius sessions can be valuable for sharing your progress, getting feedback from the community, or analyzing your technique. Here's how to capture and save your videos using the Meta Quest's built-in recording features.
Basic Recording Process
- While in Swing Genius, press the Meta button on your right controller to open the Quest menu.
- Select the Camera icon.
- Choose "Record Video" to start recording.
- When finished, select "Stop Recording" from the same menu.

For a more convenient method of starting/stopping recording without opening the Quest menu, try pressing and holding the Meta button and index trigger simultaneously for approximately 1 second.
This method will not include microphone recording, so be mindful of using this shortcut if you want viewers to hear you!

Optimizing Recording Settings
The default settings work well for most users, but you can customize your recording experience for better results.
Accessing Advanced Settings
- Open the Camera app from the Quest menu.
- Click "Settings" in the top right corner.
- Scroll down to the "Video Recording" section.
Key Settings to Consider
- Left/Right Eye Selection: Choose which eye's view to record.
- Image Stabilization: Smooths out shakiness (Note: Currently not compatible with passthrough mode).
- Aspect Ratio:
- Square (1024x1024) - Recommended for best performance and wider field of view.
- Landscape (1920x1080)
- Portrait (1080x1920)
- Framerate:
- 30fps (Default)
- 60fps - Recommended for capturing faster movements.
- Bit Rate: Adjust from 5mbps to 20mbps for varying levels of video quality.
